Climbing season & Admission fees

The official climbing season runs from November 15th to March 31st

This is the summer season and visitors can count on the following logistical support.

Services suppliers offer:
Assistance with the purchase of the climbing permit and equipment rental
Gear transport by mules
Base camp service
Shuttle service
Guide service
Porters
Lodging reservations

Park authorities, the Dirección de Recursos Naturales Renovables, offers:

Park ranger entrance permit control, ecological control and information
Park ranger stations at: Horcones, Pampa de Leñas, Confluencia, Plaza de Mulas and Plaza Argentina
Helicopter evacuation, only under physician’s order
Medical assistance at Plaza de Mulas, Plaza Argentina and Confluencia
Rescue and evacuation service by the Mountain Police Patrol only on the Normal Route
Continuous radio transmission in 142.8 Mhz FM

There are restrictions for minors to enter the Park, consult .

The admission fees are set by the Park authorities. The permits have different prices for high, mid and low season.
In order to obtain a climbing/trekking permit you have to come to the City of Mendoza to purchase it in person.

Park authorities, the Dirección de Recursos Naturales Renovables, offers:
Park rangers entrance permit control, ecological control and information
Park rangers station at: Horcones or Puente del Inca, depending on weather conditions.

Special winter season
It runs from April 1st to April 30th, and the admission fees per person are:

Climbing….. $ 600

Long trek….$ 150

Short trek.. $ 90
Winter season
It runs from May 1st to November14th, and the admission fees per person are:

Climbing….. $ 1200

Long trek… $ 150

Short trek.. $ 100

All climbing and trekking activities during the winter season will be regulated by the Park Enforcement Authority according to the policy on this respect.
In the case of being authorized to enter the Park during the winter season, the visitor will be in charge of all the expenses for eventual search and rescue, evacuation and/or medical assistance services that may occur during or related to the expedition.
